Welcome to the Tasr World 2009

Wed, 01 October 2008
The next Tasar World Championship will take place in Wakayama sailing center, Japan from the 18th to 27th of September 2009. It will be the third Tasar World Championship in Japan, following championships in Hayama in 1992 and at the Hamana-ko in1999.
Wakayama is located south of Osaka, which is the second largest city in Japan, and takes about 30 min by car from Kansai International Airport. There are some historic sites and temples nearby and besides it’s not too far from Nara and Kumano, which are world heritage sites. Wakayama is blessed with beautiful nature, a mild climate and an excellent sea breeze in summer. The site, Wakayama sailing center was designated as a National Training center by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in May 2008 and more sailing facilities such as additional boathouses are being built.
Warm water, good winds and a skilled race committee promises that you all will enjoy the regatta. We expect hundreds of sailors from all over the world and are looking forward to seeing you all in Wakayama!!
